The exhibition documents the roots, formation and development of Hungarian parliamentarism until the change in the political system in chronological order in eight chapters. The first part presents the history of national assemblies from the beginnings until the feudal diets, while the second one portrays the period until 1918 illustrating the birth of modern parliament from the reform diets through the appearance of parliaments based on popular representation until the consolidation and construction of parliamentarism based on the new principles. The third unit provides an overview of the development of parliamentarism between 1918 and 1990: the period of looking for new paths and starting anew. Audio guides in Hungarian and thirteen other languages are available, allowing visitors to explore the entire exhibition for themselves.
